These include the already documented increase in time (+26%), distance (+16%) and total energy expenditure (+51%) required of border crossers (Chambers et al, 2021a,b), coupled with a lack of water available for rehydration (Androff & Tavassoli, 2012;Boyce et al, 2019;Chambers & Miranker, 2022).
