“…Shared goal setting and patient involvement in care further reinforce the significance of patient-centered approaches within multidisciplinary teams. By actively engaging patients in setting their own health goals and incorporating their preferences and values into the care plan, a sense of empowerment and ownership is fostered, enhancing patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment [56][57][58][59]. This collaborative goal-setting process not only aligns the team's efforts but also ensures that care interventions are tailored to the patient's priorities and desired outcomes, ultimately contributing to improved QoL [60].…”

“…Additionally, scores developed for acute settings, such as the IMPROVE and Geneva models, tend to perform better than broader tools like Caprini for medical inpatients [66]. Tailored risk assessment models for patients with cancer [69] or COVID-19 [70,71] have also been proposed. Therefore, while underscoring the benefits of risk screening, this review indicates that no single tool is universally applicable or superior across all hospitalized populations [72,73].…”

“…The high worldwide prevalence of vitamin D deficiency may be largely attributable to lifestyle changes in modern society, including increased time spent indoors and sun avoidance behaviors [ 13 ]. Dietary sources alone are typically not adequate to meet bodily vitamin D requirements, and, thus, regular sun exposure is essential for endogenous vitamin D synthesis in the skin [ 14 , 15 ]. However, concerns over skin cancer risks have led public health authorities in many countries to recommend sun avoidance and the liberal use of sunscreen.…”
