Delay-Dependent Stability Control for Power System With Multiple Time-Delays

Abstract: Time-delay exists widely in electric power systems, and is found to have significant effect on the performance of operation and control under certain conditions. It is shown that even a very small delay may destabilize the power system. Therefore, time-delay is of important concern and should be properly handled, especially in the wide-area measurement and control environment. However, only few results about the controller design for power system considering multiple time-delays are reported. In this paper, a … Show more

“…Apart from the lack of a precise WAMS delay model, a general technique to study the stability of power system with inclusion of time-varying delays is also currently missing. The most common approach is based on Lyapunov-Krasovskii Functionals (LKFs) [3], [13]- [15]. The main limit of LKFs is their numerical complexity -which prevents applications to large-size real-world power systems -and the significant conservativeness of the results [16].…”

“…The method proposed by this paper can be applied to conduct adaptive WADC parameter online tuning. Li [13] extended the research to deal with a power system containing multiple delays. Firstly, this paper established a model containing multiple delays.…”

“…However, the authors just analysed the effects of delay to control performance, there is not effective method to over it. In , for the multiple time delays in power systems, a stabilising controller was presented for analysing the relationship between time delays and system stability. However, the authors just analysed the stability of the plant under delay input.…”
