Demandas habitacionais de famílias monoparentais com responsabilidade feminina e as políticas públicas municipais desenvolvidas pela PROLAR entre 2004 à 2007 em Ponta Grossa – PR / Habitational demands of lone parent families under female responsability

Abstract

This article aims to understand the relationship between the demands of head-of-household women and housing policies developed by the Housing Company of Ponta Grossa (PROLAR), using the period between 2004 and 2007. The operationalization of the research was carried out by collecting quantitative data from PROLAR socioeconomic registers and qualitative data obtained through semi-structured interviews with women responsible for properties in Housing Developments Jardim Jacarandá I and II and Jardim Alto Alegre. The study showed that families headed by women, residing in the selected enterprises, face several precariousness, such as low education, low income and poor access to the formal working market, and that despite the significant presence of low-income female lone parent families, the Municipality of Ponta Grossa considers the population who demands popular habitations as a homogeneous group and has not carried out social policies targeted to gender inequalities.
