Demographic and clinical characteristics of patients with type two diabetes at the Cochancay Health Center

Abstract

The general objective was to describe the prevalence of patients with diabetes mellitus according to demographic and clinical characteristics. A qualitative, descriptive-correlational, retrospective, cross-sectional, non-experimental qualitative study was carried out, in which information was collected from patients through the study, analysis and exhaustive review of the clinical histories of 165 male and female patients. Data were collected through an information collection form from the patients' clinical histories, which included demographic and clinical data. A descriptive analysis was performed using percentages, frequencies and Pearson's Chi-square test. The data obtained on the prevalence of Diabetes mellitus type 2 has been relevant and in turn has contracted with the multiple studies analyzed on the basis of the problem, although it is true that as far as sex is concerned, all the visualized studies refer that the female sex is relevant.
