DEMONSTRATION OF DNP GROUPS ON IN VITRO DINITROPHENYLATED LYMPH NODE CELLS OF THE GUINEA PIG BY A SCANNING IMMUNOELECTRON MICROSCOPIC METHOD

Abstract: The distribution of DNP groups on the surface of guinea pig lymph node cells incubated with 2.5 mM DNBSO3Na in tubes was investigated by an indirect method using scanning immunoelectron microscopy with bacteriophage T4 labelled with antibody as a visual marker. Fairly precise localization could be achieved with scanning electron microscopy. It became apparent that DNP groups were distributed in varying amounts on the surface of lymph node cells incubated with DNBSO3Na in tubes and that DNP groups had a tendenc… Show more

“…The distribution pattern of DNP groups was classified into three types, sparse, patchy and diffuse. The sparse and patchy appearance were also seen on the lymph node cells incubated in DNBSOsNa (14). There seems to be no fundamental difference in distribution of DNP groups between cells in the draining lymph nodes from DNCB painted guinea pigs and in lymph node cells dinitrophenylated zn UltTO.…”
