Deniz Ulaştırma İşletme Mühendisliği Bölümlerindeki Hiyerarşik Yapının Öğrenciler Üzerindeki Psikolojik Etkilerinin Kapsamlı Analizi

Abstract

− It is known that there is a subordinate-superior relationship in institutions and organizations with a hierar-chical structure. Individuals who spend a certain part of their lives in institutions and organizations where there are a hierarchy experience positive and negative psychological effects both individually and in groups. In this study, the positive and negative effects of the hierarchical structure on the psychology of the students studying in the Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering Departments (MTME) have been analysed comprehensively with the SPSS 23 package program. A questionnaire was prepared to be applied to Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering students by taking expert opinions. Of the 218 answers given in the applied questionnaire, 195 were considered valid. Descriptive statistics were made through valid questionnaires and the class levels and genders of the students were determined. While performing the analyses, decisions were made according to the hypotheses and the data to be used. Inde-pendent t-Test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA), Pearson's Chi-Square test, and correlation analysis were used for analysis. For Pearson's Chi-Square test and Multivariate Analysis of Variance, additional tests were applied to determine the degrees of the results. When the answers given to the questionnaire were analysed, it was determined that the Hierarchical Struc-ture Among Students (HSAS) was supported by the students and contributed to the students. In addition, it has been revealed that the support of the faculty members to HSAS has an effect on the formation of negative elements among the students. It is recommended to support the preservation of the values that make up the HSAS among MTME students. It is recommended to review the effects of faculty members for the HSAS to function properly and its causes are seen as another research topic.
