Densities and Excess Molar Volumes of the Binary Mixtures of Cyclopentanone with Chloroalkanes at T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K

Abstract: The experimental densities of binary mixtures of cyclopentanone with 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, trichloromethane, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,3-dichloropropane, 1,4-dichlorobutane, and 1-chlorobutane have been measured at T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K and atmospheric pressure, over the whole composition range. From these results, excess molar volumes, V E, have been calculated and fitted to the Redlich−Kister polynomial equation. The excess molar volumes are negative for the cyclo… Show more

“…For our cyclopentanone or cyclohexanone + chloroalkane binary mixtures, the molar refraction, R, was evaluated by means of Eq. (6) using the calculated refractive indices with Redlich-Kister parameters (from Tables 5 and 6) and calculated molar volumes (from the Redlich-Kister equation using the parameters published in [2,3]). …”

“…Thermodynamic properties like excess molar volumes, V E , excess molar enthalpies, H E , excess isentropic compressibilities, j E S , and excess Gibbs energy, G E , of liquid mixtures have been successfully utilized to obtain information about molecular interactions and geometrical effects in the mixtures [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Heat capacities, C P , and excess heat capacities, C E P À Á 12 , data of liquid mixtures are also related to the structure of the constituent molecules.…”
