Densities and Viscosities for Binary Liquid Mixtures of Biodiesel + 1-Pentanol, 2-Pentanol, or 2-Methyl-1-Butanol from (288.15 to 338.15) K at 0.1 MPa

Abstract: This work presents experimentally determined densities and viscosities of biodiesel blended with 1-pentanol, 2-pentanol, and 2-methyl-1-butanol between 288.15 and 338.15 K at 0.1 MPa. The densities are measured using a vibrating tube densimeter, and the kinematic viscosities, using a glass capillary viscometer. The measured density and viscosity of the pure components agree with values reported in the literature within average absolute percentage deviations of 0.04 and 0.83%, respectively. The excess molar vol… Show more

“…In the case of 2pentanol, the comparison is limited to the data available at the same measuring conditions, and the average absolute deviation between data from Refs. [63,56] for three experimental points is 4.10% which confirms the dispersion of the data and the need of our new experimental values. In the case of the literature values given in Ref.…”

“…In this work, we have measured experimental densities and viscosities for binary mixtures of 1-pentanol + 2-pentanol, 1-pentanol + 2-methyl-1-butanol, and 2-pentanol + 2-methyl-1-butanol from (288.15 to 328.15) K at 0.1 MPa over the entire composition range. Density and viscosity measurements of pure pentanol isomers are compared with values reported in the literature, , as shown in Table . The average absolute percentage deviations (AAPD) between our density measurements and literature values are (0.035, 0.036, and 0.103) % for 1-pentanol, 2-pentanol, and 2-methy1-butanol, respectively.…”

“…Densities and viscosities have been measured for 1-butanol, ,,,, 2-butanol, , isobutyl alcohol, tert -butanol, , 1-pentanol, , 2-pentanol, ,, and 2-methyl-1-butanol ,,, at different temperatures and atmospheric pressure. Bravo-Sánchez et al , measured the density and viscosity of binary mixtures of butanol isomers from (308.15 to 343.15) K at 0.1 MPa.…”
