Densities, Viscosities, Refractive Indexes, and Surface Tensions for Binary and Ternary Mixtures of Tetrahydofuran, 2-Propanol, and 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane

Abstract: Densities, viscosities, refractive indexes, and surface tensions of a ternary system (tetrahydofuran + 2-propanol + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane) at T = 298.15 K and three constituent binary systems at T = (288.15, 298.15, and 308.15) K were measured at atmospheric pressure. Densities were determined using a vibrating-tube densimeter. Viscosities were measured with an automatic microviscometer based on the rolling ball principle. Refractive indexes were measured using a digital Abbe-type refractometer. Surface tensi… Show more

“…doi:10.1016/j.jcis.2010.12.003 further purifications. The purity of reagents was checked by comparing the measured surface tension at 298.15 K with those reported in the literatures [16][17][18][19]. The resultant values are in good agreement with values found in the literature and reported in Table 1.…”

“…In the past, experimental densities, viscosities, refractive indexes, and surface tensions for the binary mixtures of (2-propanol + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane) at T = (288. 15, 298.15, and 308.15) K were measured in our laboratory [1]. However, we are not aware of any literature data regarding the properties for the mixtures proposed in this study.…”
