The current study works out on densities 'ρ', ultrasonic speeds of sound 'u' of binary mixtures of propiophenone with n-alcohols e.g., 1-propanol, 1-butanol and 1-pentanol measured over the entire composition range at 303.15 to 318.15 K and at atmospheric pressure 0.1 MPa. The worked out experimental data has been used to calculate various thermodynamic excess parameters like excess molar volume (V E ), excess ultrasonic velocity (U E ), excess acoustic impedance (Z E ), excess intermolecular free-length (Lf E ), deviation in isentropic compressibility (∆Ks), deviation in acoustic impedance (∆Z) and the computed results were fitted with the Redlich Kister equation to estimate the binary coefficients and standard deviation between experimental and calculated data. Partial molar volume of the binary mixtures was calculated to understand more of the intermolecular reactions in the above binary mixtures.
