Density and surface tension of a nickel melt deoxidized with rare- and alkaline-earth metals

Abstract: The temperature dependences of the density and surface tension of a nickel melt deoxidized with lanthanum, cerium, calcium, and magnesium are studied. The dependences exhibit both a positive and neg ative hysteresis of the properties. Lanthanum added to the nickel melt changes the curves and the validity coefficients of their linear or polynomial approximation.
