Density, Dynamic Viscosity, Surface Tension, Vapor Pressure, Heat Capacity, and Thermal Conductivity of Aqueous 2-(Isopropylamino)ethanol Solutions at Temperatures from (298.15 to 353.15) K

Abstract: 2-(Isopropylamino)ethanol (IPAE) is attracting attention as an efficient amine-based CO2 absorbent with steric hindrance. However, data on the physicochemical characteristics of IPAE are lacking. Therefore, in this study, the physical properties of aqueous IPAE solutions, such as density, dynamic viscosity, surface tension, vapor pressure, heat capacity, and thermal conductivity, were measured from T = (298.15 to 353.15) K for IPAE mass fractions of 0.1–0.5. For each physical property, correlation coefficients… Show more

“…To develop a promising CO 2 capture liquid absorbent, it is important to determine their density, viscosity, and surface tension along with the other physicochemical features. , Density and viscosity are two significant parameters as they are used to calculate mass transfer coefficients, illustrating their relevance in the construction of packed absorber and stripper columns . Moreover, the surface tension of the solvent has an impact on both mass and heat transfer .…”
