“…Recently, much attention has been given to studies of the thermodynamic properties, such as vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE) and density of CO2 mixtures with impurities. A number of research groups have studied some of these key binaries, such as CO2/N2 (Fandino et al, 2015;Mantovani et al, 2012;Tenorio et al, 2015;Westman et al, 2016b), CO2/Ar (Coquelet et al, 2008;Köpke and Eggers, 2007;Mantovani et al, 2012;Yang et al, 2015a), CO2/H2 (Cipollina et al, 2007;Fandino et al, 2015;Sanchez-Vicente et al, 2013;Tenorio et al, 2015), CO2/O2 (Mantovani et al, 2012;Westman et al, 2016a), CO2/SO2 (Coquelet et al, 2014;Köpke and Eggers, 2007), CO2/CO (Cipollina et al, 2007), CO2/H2S (Chapoy et al, 2013a) and CO2/H2O (Hou et al, 2013;Valtz et al, 2004), which either focused on the binaries with an insufficient amount of data under the conditions relevant to CCS or aimed at reducing experimental uncertainties. A comprehensive data survey of the available thermodynamic properties of binary systems with CO2 can be found in the monograph by Kunz et al (2007) and in the recent reviews by Munkejord et al (2016) and Li.…”

“…However, to the best of our knowledge, the situation of accurate vapor-phase ( p , ρ, T, x ) data for binary carbon dioxide-rich mixtures is rather poor. In our present research project, we investigated the binary system (carbon dioxide + argon); the available experimental ( p , ρ, T, x ) data for this particular system were summarized by Yang et al No data are available with compositions of about 0.95 mole fraction carbon dioxide. To fill this data gap, accurate density measurements at temperatures T = (273.15, 283.15, 293.15, 308.15, and 323.15) K with pressures up to dew-point pressure or p = 9.0 MPa, whichever is lower, were carried out on a (0.05049 argon + 0.94951 carbon dioxide) mixture utilizing a two-sinker magnetic suspension densimeter.…”

“…For this particular binary mixture system, an obvious lack of accurate experimental data was observed. In this context, the available experimental ( p , ρ, T , x ) data before the year 2016 were summarized by Yang et al To fill the data gap for the binary (argon + carbon dioxide) system, and for the sake of improving the performance of mixture models, the ( p , ρ, T , x ) behavior of binary (argon + carbon dioxide) mixtures with 0.50000, 0.49975, and 0.75093 mole fraction carbon dioxide was investigated. We used the same two-sinker magnetic suspension densimeter as in our previous work within the same project.…”
