Density, Refractive Index, Viscosity, and Surface Tension of Binary Mixtures of exo-Tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene with Some n-Alkanes from (293.15 to 313.15) K

Abstract: Densities and viscosities were determined over the whole composition range for the binary mixtures of exo-tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene with n-nonane, n-dodecane, or n-tridecane at different temperatures (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, and 313.15) K and atmospheric pressure. The excess molar volumes V m E for the mixtures were calculated from the experimental data. The refractive index and surface tension of the systems were also measured for temperatures of (293.15 and 303.15) K.

“…The data obtained by Lyusternik and Zhdanov 51 in the gaseous region between 503 and 681 K as well as by Giller and Drickamer 52 near the freezing point of about 262 K up to 293 K cannot be used for data comparison here. More recent experimental viscosity data for n-C 12 H 26 at or close to saturation conditions are generally determined only around ambient temperature below 323 K 53,54 or agree with our present results within combined uncertainties. 55 Further recently published experimental data from Yang et al 56 were obtained over an extended temperature range from 303 to 673 K in the compressed liquid phase at 5 MPa.…”

“…Most experimental σ data for n -C 12 H 26 are generally determined only around ambient temperature below 323 K ,, and are thus not used for data comparison here. In total, three data sources providing surface tension data of n -C 12 H 28 above 323 K were found and are discussed below.…”
