Dependence of charged particle pseudorapidity distributions on centrality and energy inp(d)Acollisions at high energies

Abstract: The pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles produced in deuteron-gold (d-Au) and proton-emulsion (p-Em) collisions at high energies are studied in the framework of the two-cylinder model. The experimental results of nuclear reactions induced by protons and deuterons [p(d)A collisions] can be simply described by this model. The dependencies of parameter values on centrality for d-Au collisions and on nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy for p-Em collisions are obtained. The formula obtained by this m… Show more

“…According to the multi-source model [6][7][8][9], a few emission sources of produced particles are assumed to form in interacting system due to different reaction mechanisms and/or data examples. For each emission source, the thermal model or other similar models and distributions can be used to perform calculation on the production of particles.…”

“…Different functions and methods are used by different researchers to describe rapidity and transverse momentum distributions as well as other distributions which can be measured in experiments [1][2][3][4][5]. Based on a multi-source thermal model [6][7][8][9], the rapidity and transverse momentum distributions obtained in experiments at different collision energies are studied by us in terms of two-cylinder, Rayleigh, Boltzmann, Tsallis, and other distributions. In particular, comparing with rapidity distribution, transverse momentum distribution contains more abundant information and attracts wider attentions.…”
