Deployment of IoT based smart environment : key issues and challenges

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is viewed as a dynamic technological revolution representing future communications and computing in several areas. It introduces physical objects in the sphere of cyber world. IoT is not about a single technology but various complementary technological developments which provides ways to bridge the gap between the real world and the virtual world. A number of wireless sensor technologies are implemented in IoT viz. RFID, ZigBee, actuators, WiFi and wireless sensor networks (WSNs). … Show more

“…Wearable sensors and the advances of wireless networks has opened the door to a world of novel interactive IoT applications. Different types of inexpensive and unobtrusive body-worn sensors like accelerometers, gyroscopes, and microphones have been often used in daily life activities [4]. Various researchers worked on detecting human activities by observing different parameters.…”

“…Internet is like a digital fabric that affects our life in one way or others. The internet of people changed the world but there is a new internet emerging which is about connecting things and so its name is the internet of things (IoT), here the things share their experience and communicate with one another [1]. It is like take things and add sense and communication power to them.…”

“…Furthermore, wireless networks are more prone to attacks than the wired network [2]. A number of attacks can be applied to IoT based applications and to provide sufficient protection against these attacks good cryptographic solutions must be made available to these devices [3,4]. Besides, embedded devices are resource constraint and have limited processing power, low memory available, low energy consumption, and etc.…”
