Abstract: The Jewish community in Salzburg before 1938 never exceeded 300 and there were consequently hardly any Jewish sportsmen/women. Anti-Semitism was quite common, especially in the city of Salzburg, where nearly the whole Jewish community lived and where sport had been established by that time.
