“…In our case series, the red colour was predominant in DVIN, then the white colour became more evident during the progression to microinvasive SCC and invasive SCC (except in ulcerated areas), and these findings appear to be in line with the aforementioned model . Moreover, in DVIN, mainly curvy and short‐serpentine vessels were seen, as previously described, while in microinvasive vulvar SCC, curvy, dotted, linear–irregular and some hairpin vessels were observed. In invasive SCC, the vessels appeared highly polymorphous (hairpin vessels peripherally, curvy and linear–irregular vessels centrally) together with ulceration.…”

“…The majority of cases also had vascular structures with the common finding of glomerular vessels . In both Bowenoid papulosis and pBD, pigmentation has been observed as brown or grey dots in a linear arrangement at the periphery of the lesion – this has also been reported in vulval cases …”

“…) presented as a flat pigmented macule with well‐demarcated borders and a dermoscopic cerebriform pattern with parallel pigmented brown dots. A dermoscopic cerebriform pattern of pigmented VIN has already been described in the literature, as well as the presence of parallel pigmented dots . However, the latter may also be observed in pigmented Bowen disease (BD) or in genital bowenoid papulosis (BP), therefore, BP and BD may represent the main differential diagnoses of pigmented VIN when linear brown–grey dots are seen.…”

“…described a cerebriform pattern in three pigmented VINs, a pattern shared by pigmented VIN and vulvar seborrhoeic keratosis. In a recent work, we described the dermoscopic appearance of four VINs; in that report, the ‘usual’ pigmented VIN (shown also here in Fig. ) presented as a flat pigmented macule with well‐demarcated borders and a dermoscopic cerebriform pattern with parallel pigmented brown dots.…”
