Abstract:This paper deals with the description of steady-state sub-and superharmonic motion in rotor-stator contact using truncated complex Fourier series. Two different approaches are presented with different stages of simplification. In particular, a kinematic contact condition describing continuous contact is used. The multi-harmonic balance method is applied to solve the differential algebraic system of equations. A further simplification is implemented which uses the triangular inequality to approximate the nonlin… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
