Show more

“…The oil extraction of sunflower is performed using a cold press that mechanically forces the oil and extracts out of the grains by applying increasing pressure to the seeds, resulting in the sunflower cake, which is a co-product that has a higher ether extract compared to sunflower meal due to the low efficiency of oil extraction by this method (OLIVEIRA et al, 2012).…”

“…The high fiber content and soluble NSPs in the diet can increase the digestion viscosity when in contact with water, forming gums, which increase the size of the bolus and consequently cause gastric distension, which in turn causes a feeling of satiety in the birds, reducing FI (Oliveira et al, 2012;Al-Harthi et al, 2020). The chemical composition of DRC shows that the cassava byproduct has a high starch content and a high fiber concentration, as also observed by Abrahão et al (2006) and Khempaka et al (2009), justifying the reduction in performance.…”

“…Based on this perspective, the objective of using fish by-product silage as an alternative ingredient is to enhance productivity and profitability and should not negatively affect animal performance and physiology. This requires a clear understanding of its protein and mineral contents, energy level, as well as nutrient availability and utilization by the birds (Oliveira et al, 2012).…”
