Show more

“…Stefanello Júnior (2010) working with immature stages of T. pretiosum in maize culture observed that for the pyrethroid insecticide Turbo, the pupa phase was the most affected by the insecticide action corroborating the results contained in it and also conferred class 1, for this insecticide. Santos et al (2016) also revealed greater aggressiveness of beta-cyfluthrin against T. pretiosum.…”

“…Previous research has shown that confirmed fungus-related mortality depends on the virulence of fungal strains, EF species, Trichogramma species, and the application period (pre- or post-parasitism) [ 22 , 27 , 39 ]. Furthermore, the interactions between the EF and Trichogramma species were minimal for all biological parameters considered in this study, especially when compared with chemical insecticides [ 11 , 43 , 44 , 45 ].…”

“…Biological and chemical controls need to be compatible in order to preserve the community of beneficial insects in the production system. Therefore, the work group of the International Organization for Biological Control of Noxious Animals and Plants (IOBC), West Palearctic Regional Section (WPRS) established the guidelines to conduct assays and categorization of pesticides according to their selectivity, including laboratory steps (adult and immature phases) (Hassan et al, 2000, Santos et al, 2016.…”

“…Parasitoids from the Trichogramma genre are being used in commercial scale and allowing the optimization in the control of lepidopteros-pest in the tomato culture (Carvalho et al, 2003). This association may reduce the number of pesticide applications, with increased economic benefits and decrease impact on the environment (Santos et al, 2016, Pratissoli et al, 2019.…”
