Abstract:This paper describes a novel design for a microstrip fractal antenna based on the Sierpinski triangle shape. It is built on a FR4 substrate and operates in the 5.5 GHz frequency range. The proposed antenna is designed and validated using ANSYS Electronic Desktop's High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The simulated results show good performance in terms of radiation pattern, gain and input impedance.
