Conventional data acquisition systems face challenges in achieving high acquisition speeds and rapid storage of large data volumes using microcontrollers. In contrast, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) offer numerous advantages, including high clock frequencies, minimal internal delays, fast operational speeds, abundant internal RAM resources, and simplified control of complex peripheral circuits. This study presents the design of an FPGA-based multimedia remote monitoring system for information technology server rooms. The proposed system utilizes an FPGA as the primary controller and incorporates environmental sensors, electrical energy sensors, carbon monoxide sensors, smoke sensors, and A/D converter modules to monitor multiple locations within the server room. Simultaneously, the FPGA transmits the collected data from each monitoring point via a serial port to an LCD serial screen for display. An alarm is triggered if any environmental anomalies are detected, indicating abnormal statuses. Additionally, the system employs the fast Fourier transform algorithm and butterfly operations to derive voltage and current AC quantities, while utilizing relative temperature differences to identify equipment faults within the server room. The system is evaluated in terms of functionality, user-friendliness, and reliability. Experimental results demonstrate that all performance measures align with expectations, fulfilling the initial design objectives and highlighting the potential applicability and relevance of FPGA technology in the monitoring field. In addition, a comparison between FPGA and traditional microcontroller systems is performed, showcasing the superior processing speed and performance of the FPGA-based system. This comparative analysis further validates the advantages of using FPGA technology in high-speed data acquisition and monitoring applications.

In the rapid development of social economy, people's quality of life is getting higher and higher, elevator as one of the essential means of transportation in daily life, how to ensure the safety and stability of elevator equipment operation, has become the main issue of research and discussion. Since the sensors in the elevator can collect a large amount of data information, which can provide effective basis for the study of the operating state of the elevator equipment, scientific researchers propose to use big data technology to optimize the elevator safety detection and management, build a sound management system and monitoring methods, and solve the elevator safety failures and abnormal situations as soon as possible. In this paper, on the basis of understanding the research status of elevator safety detection management, according to the theory of big data technology, put forward the elevator safety detection management system with big data as the core, and combined with practical cases for verification and analysis. The final results show that the application of big data technology in elevator safety detection management is very important.

This paper describes the architecture of a weather routing system consisting of two key elements: onboard monitoring and route optimiser sub-systems. The former is responsible for collecting various onboard measurements, such as current ship position or ship motion variables. These data, when gathered and processed, are then used for fine-tuning a ship model. The model, together with weather forecasts, is utilised by a multi-objective route optimiser to estimate forecasted ship responses during the voyage. The route optimiser has been developed in a client-server architecture to reallocate all necessary high-tech resources to the server side and keep the client software as simple and light as possible. The system also includes a module responsible for optimising transmission costs, to reduce onboard transmission during the voyage. The entire solution has been deployed onboard the demonstrator ship ‘Monte da Guia’ and tested during its operations at sea.
