Design and development of SEPIC DC-DC boost converter for photovoltaic application

Abstract: This study highlights a new construction of SEPIC DC-DC converter. The proposed converter aims for some features such as high voltage gain, continuous input current and reduce stress on the power switch. In addition, the circuit construction ensurs the simplicity in design along with signicant cost saving, since its components are readily available and smaller in size compared to the off-shelf components. This type of converter can adjust the DC voltage to maintain its output voltage to be constant. Typically,… Show more

“…There are plenty of designs to cater the conversion problem, where the nature of DGs forces this kind of devices to the system. A tremendous amount of harmonics is supplied and introduced to the system due to the use of these power electronic devices [9]: [15]. Plenty of works in the literature have attempted to mitigate the presence of harmonics in the micro-grid or the overall power system.…”

“…As the technology and innovation transformit from plants beyond the customer meters known as the electrification, decentralizationand IT/OT digitization, grid-connected PV system is one of the most renewable and clean energy sources that has been utilized over decades. Grid-connected PV is a smart grid system, which includes PE, such as a DC/DC converter that can guarantee maximum harvested sun energy through a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control, and the converter is used to interconnect PV into the grid [17][18][19]. Figure 1 illustrates the PE that commonly used for the grid-connected PV system.…”
