Design and Experiment of Symmetrical Spiral Row-Sorting of the Straw Device Based on Kinematics Analysis

Abstract: This paper designed a symmetrical spiral row-sorting of the straw device (SSRSD) under the condition that the no-till anti-blocking knife cut and chopped the straw to guarantee the machine’s passing capacity. The row-sorting blade (RB) of the symmetrical spiral mechanism (SSM) pushed the straw that fell into the straw hopper to the non-sowing area on both sides of the sowing belt and played the role of row-sorting the straw. Based on a theoretical analysis of the relationship between the material-bearing capac… Show more

“…Based on the previous research, the pressure angle and fertilization gap are the main structural parameters affecting the flow uniformity of the double-gear fertilizer discharger [14,15]. The theoretical fertilizer discharge volume can reach the agronomic requirement of 750 kg/hm 2 of the ultimate fertilizer application when the operating speed of the discharge wheel is 60 rpm.…”

“…Direct seeding will lead to difficulties in the operation of machines and tools, which will seriously affect the seeding effect [5,6], and row-sorting of the straw before sowing is an effective way to improve the seeding quality [7,8]. However, problems such as high soil loss in the seeding belt, incomplete cleaning of short straw, straw blockage of row-sorting parts, and so on are prone to occur during the straw row-sorting operation [9]. Therefore, it is necessary to identify how to achieve the high-efficiency and high-quality row-sorting of corn straw under the premise of minimizing the soil loss in the seeding belt.…”

“…These anti-blocking mechanisms find applications in rapeseed direct planting as well as corn no-tillage planting. Theoretical [14,15], experimental [16,17], and numerical [18,19] methods are employed to assess the performance of anti-blocking mechanisms in terms of soil disturbance and straw cleaning rate. For instance, Li et al [14] analyzed the performance of symmetrical spiral row-sorting of the straw device with a theoretical method, Jiang et al [16] tested the performance of a seedbed preparation machine before transplanting of rapeseed with a combined transplanter in the field, and Zhu et al [18] optimized the structural parameters of the bionic shifting and diffluence straw anti-blocking mechanism via EDEM 2022 software.…”
