Design and Experimental Demonstration of an Atmospheric Turbulence Simulation System for Free-Space Optical Communication

Abstract: In this paper, the design of an atmospheric turbulence simulation system for free-space optical (FSO) communication is proposed. The system can accurately simulate repeatable atmospheric turbulent fading channels. It has a dynamic execution range of 30 dB with an execution rate of 1 MHz.
