“…Vega offers a variety of Volume types including Box, Sphere, Cylinder, Frustum, points, lines, polygons, and segments. The Z method, LOS method, ZPR method, and HAT method are composed of a vector segment, hence, they can only detect if there is a collision occurs on one direction [3,4]. Nonetheless, BUMP method consists of 6 perpendicular segments, all six segments extend along the X, Y, Z three axes in the direction of the positive and negative, which constitute a box.…”

“…A lot of researches on the modeling and driving of this visual simulation system for bridge cranes have been done in the past, but the rare collision detection technology studied leads to shortcomings such as through each other among virtual objects , not strong immersion in the visual simulation system developed. Therefore, the collision detection technology is applied combining with the collision requirements of hook and goods in the virtual simulation system for bridge cranes and based on the principle of collision detection provided by Vega in this paper [3]. The collisions between the hook and goods, hook and machine tools or other virtual objects in the scene are avoided according to set the collision between hook and virtual objects using intersection vector methods [4] provided by Vega.…”
