Abstract:This paper describes the design and prototyping of EMS, a telecommunication intellectual property soft-core developed in the scope of industry-academia cooperation. EMS performs insertion (mapping) and extraction (demapping) of EI channels into/from Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) frames.
