“…The proposed NPs-based method to treat cancer has several critical advantages such as tunable targeting, contained and localized effect on cancer cells, easy manipulation to achieve specific aims, multifunctionality for simultaneous task performance, and robust optical stability. [10][11][12][13] The proposed smart sensor can be designed for targeting, imaging, sensing, drug delivery, and burning of cancer cells with high accuracy as a small-smart-machine. One of the important aspects of cancer therapy by means of this new technology is photothermal heating produced by the targeted NPs.…”

“…If several biological agents are attached on the surface of the NPs to construct multifunctional nanobiosensors to simultaneously perform several tasks, the multi-functionality can eventually cause the size of the NPs to increase and become larger than 350 nm, which severely limits their use in biological applications. [1][2][3][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] To solve the latter problem, two functionalized NPs (NPs with signaling and receiving capabilities such as detection and drug delivery, respectively) of a small size rather than multi-function nanobiosensors have been assembled to simultaneously perform several predened aims in tumor smart-targeting. The tumor smart-targeting means that the large amount of signaling and receiving NPs with detection, imaging, and drug delivery agents are precisely accumulated in the tumor location especially for small tumors.…”
