“…The design and construction of new coordination polymers (CPs) is of current interest and attracts researchers in the fields of modern structural chemistry and materials science because of their potential applications in areas such as ionexchange, catalysis, sensors, magnetism, and non-linear optics (Dzhardimalieva & Uflyand, 2017;Loukopoulos & Kostakis, 2018;Horike et al, 2020). It is well known that the construction of CPs depends on a variety of factors such as the nature of metal ions and the organic ligands, the molar ratio of the reactants, and the reaction conditions e.g.…”

“…Photochromic materials, in particular, are of considerable interest as the regulation of their activity using light allows both spatial and temporal control without any physical contact. Taking advantage of these unique properties, researchers are actively looking at the applications of photochromic materials in consumer devices, biomedical devices, electronics, and energy storage …”

“…Ta king advantage of these unique properties, researchers are actively lookinga tt he applications of photochromic materials in consumer devices, biomedical devices, electronics, and energy storage. [23][24][25][26][27][28] The integration of photochromic units in polymerics ystems renders tunability of the polymers using light. Coordination polymers consist of metal cations linked by organic ligands, forming extensive repeating networks in one, two, or three-dimensions.…”
