“…During the ECAP process, metallic materials are pressed into a die via a continuous but kinked channel. The billet to be pressed is inserted in a die while a punch is placed on the billet top ( Figure 2 A) [ 36 ]. The load is used on the punch to press the billet via a channel ( Figure 2 B) until the billet is extruded out of the die ( Figure 2 C).…”

“…The intensity of the degree of the plastic deformation is dependent on the bend angle. The plastic strain generated from the lower bend angle is greater than that of the higher bend angle [ 36 ].…”

“…So far, special processing techniques of severe plastic deformation have been developed and used in order to fabricate UFG metals and alloys, including equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) [8][9][10], high pressure torsion (HPT) [11][12][13], accumulative roll bonding (ARB) [14][15][16], twist extrusion (TE) [17][18][19], simple shear extrusion [20], severe forward extrusion (SFE) [21], and constrained groove pressing (CGP) [22][23][24]. ECAE is one of the most well developed SPD processing techniques in which the material is deformed through a die with two channels intersecting at a certain angle, which is described completely in previous reports [25,26]. This technique came into use in order to produce UFG materials with unique mechanical properties in recent years [27][28][29][30], and it can be said that among all of the SPD processing techniques, ECAE provides the opportunity to develop processing routes and invoke different slip systems very well [31].…”
