“…In this study, we examined the spouted bed with a porous draft tube by using the tube with perforated wall. Furthermore, the cylindrical draft tube and also the conical–cylindrical tube, which was conically expanded in its bottom (Terashita et al, 2000), were employed and the effects of the opening ratio and the shape of the draft tube on the flow characteristics, such as the minimum spouting velocity, the bed pressure, the pressure fluctuation, the annulus gas flow rate, and the solids circulation rate were investigated experimentally.
