We present a compact, filtering power divider (FPD) using integrated passive device technology (IPD) for mm‐wave applications. Our proposed FPD design integrates quarter‐wavelength coupled‐resonator bandpass filters with a Wilkinson power divider, using size reduction techniques. Coupled coplanar waveguides provide excellent coupling while occupying a small area, and metal‐insulator‐metal capacitors offer the required λ/4 phase shift without length extension. The center frequency of the filtering power divider/combiner (FPD/C) is located at 30‐GHz. We demonstrate our FPD design by fabricating four prototypes with parameter variations. The insertion loss, fractional bandwidth, and size of the FPD/C designed in this study are from 2.56 to 3.3 dB, from 9.67% to 19.4%, and from 0.592 to 0.220‐mm2, respectively. In addition, the return loss of all models at the center frequency is 28.5 dB or more, and the isolation is 16.6 dB or more.

In this paper, a new dual-band Wilkinson power divider (WPD) is designed and fabricated using novel low and high impedance stubs instead of quarter-wavelength transmission lines. The proposed circuit was analyzed using odd and even mode analysis, and the optimal values of design parameters were obtained using the particle swarm optimization algorithm. The designed power divider has input reflection coefficients (S11) of −22.1 and −17 dB at the first operating frequency of 2.2 GHz and the second operating frequency of 14.2 GHz, respectively. It also improves stop-band and fractional bandwidth (FBW) while maintaining a simple topology. The proposed WPD suppresses undesired harmonics from the second to the fifth with an attenuation level of less than −20 dB in the first band and generates a broad stop-band (4.4–11.5 GHz). In the first band, the FBW is 54.5%, and in the second band, it is 20.1%.

This paper presents a single stage 2-way Wilkinson Power Divider (WPD) suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) low frequency applications in the band from 200 MHz to 1 GHz. It is realized using a meandered line, and an open shunt stub matching network is added to get a compact structure. Moreover, a Vertical Periodic Defected Ground Structure (VPDGS) is added below each arm in order to improve the performance at the center frequency without adding extra length to the divider. The size of the proposed power divider is 30 × 15.3 mm 2 (0.082λ g × 0.041λ g ). The fabricated power divider achieves a fractional bandwidth of 107%, an input return loss of better than 10 dB, an output return loss of 20 dB, an isolation of better than 10 dB, and maximum exceeded insertion loss of 0.9 dB. The proposed compact power divider is implemented on Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 with thickness 0.254 mm in order to bend on any conformal surface.
