Design of a dual‐CP gap waveguide fed aperture array antenna

Abstract: A slot array antenna with dual‐circular polarisation (CP) is presented in this paper. To overcome the fabrication and loss challenges in mm‐wave frequencies, the gap waveguide technique is utilised. The right and left hand circular polarisation (RHCP and LHCP) radiations are achieved using slots‐fed stepped septum polariser on the longitudinal slot arrays. The waveguides and feeding layer are based on ridge gap waveguide. The experimental results demonstrate the |S11| and axial ratio of proposed antenna array … Show more

“…The recent research articles show a demonstration of some GW-based antennas with passive components [24][25][26][27][28]. Several GW-based antenna arrays with CP radiation have been proposed [29][30][31][32][33][34][35]. In [30], a SIGW-fed 4-element circularly polarized antenna array is presented with an impedance bandwidth (IBW) of 25.6%, AR bandwidth (ARBW) of 19%, and peak gain of 11.53 dBic for Ku-band applications.…”
