Design of Compact CPW‐FED Monopole Antenna for WLAN/WiMAX Applications Using a Pair of F‐Shaped Slits on the Patch

Abstract: back ratio larger than 3 dB and this value is sufficient for a GPR where the lack of any reflecting ceiling is assumed. In order to complete our experimental characterization and to catch a glimpse of the radiation pattern in the 3D space, we report also the measured diagrams in the yz plane. Figures 6(a) and 6(b) show the measured diagrams for frequencies above and below 800 MHz, respectively: as it can be expected from the knowledge of the radiation diagram of a bow-tie, there is no radiation along the y axis… Show more

“…Hence, to address these problems, researchers around the world focus on the design of electrically small multiband antennas with wide impedance bandwidth characteristics. Distinct shaped antennas with dual [1][2][3][4][5][6] and triple operating bands [7][8][9][10][11][12] with different substrates have been reported in the literature, which are fed by microstrip [4-6, 9, 10, 20] and coplanar waveguide (CPW) [1-3, 7, 8].…”

“…Various CPW-fed antennas have been reported in literature such as multiband [3][4][5][6][7][8], CPW antennas with added strip for WLAN [9][10][11], and asymmetric coplanar strip antennas [12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]. However, majority of these designs have large antenna dimensions and do not cover all the major bands of WLAN/WiMAX/LTE [13][14][15][16]18].…”

“…Different designs for multiband antennas can be found in the literatures . Although these designs are shown to exhibit good radiation characteristics, the antenna structures are either complicated and, therefore, difficult to be fabricated or the designs take up unnecessary space, resulting in large sizes . In this article, we present the design of a novel compact dual band patch antenna.…”
