Design of dual-band superconducting bandpass filter using dual-mode hairpin ring resonator

Abstract: A novel hairpin ring resonator (HRR) is proposed in this paper. The HRR can generates two controllable resonant modes and its mechanism is analyzed. Then, a fourth-order dualband high-temperature superconducting (HTS) bandpass filter (BPF) is designed by cascading four HRRs. The HTS filter operating at 1.9 GHz and 2.6 GHz is fabricated on the MgO substrate with double-side coated YBCO thin films. The designed filter has a compact size (occupies only 17.6 mm × 14 mm).
