Design of half bridge LLC resonant converter using synchronous rectifier

Abstract: In this paper, the practical design of a half bridge LLC resonant converter is discussed. The results obtained using this design along with synchronous rectifier revealed an efficiency of greater than 93% which is difficult to achieve using hard switching converters. This paper describes the complete transformer design, selection of LLC components, and the design of LLC resonant converter.
