As globalization picks up speed, product innovation—the driving force behind business growth and market competition—becomes increasingly important for advancing product design technology. Computer-aided technology is one of the key components of product design, including issues with scientific analysis, creative thinking, problem-solving, and handling conflicts. Product design technology is gaining more and more attention. Computer-aided technology is now a trendy topic that is being studied by many academics due to the quick growth of computer technology. However, most of them focus on the product information model and solution and do not start from the technical methods and innovation of product design, resulting in many problems in the later solution and information description. Therefore, this paper studies product technology problems based on computer-aided technology and briefly explains the CAI technology-driven technology and the establishment of integrated process model. In this model, the assembly information model diagram is constructed to analyze the conflicts and problems in the assembly model, and then, the CAI-driven integrated innovation technology is called to complete the assembly model design. Conflicts in the assembly design can be minimized by using this paradigm. Finally, the qualitative examination of product design reveals that brainstorming is the process that uses the least amount of energy. The shafting assembly system is reviewed and examined at the same time, and the assembly accuracy accounts for the highest 35 percent of the system, completely indicating the extraordinary impact of computer-aided product design.

The paper deals with the structural design of a laser end effector for the arm of the ABB IRB 140 robot which makes products by the laser cutting technology involving soft materials, such as e.g. paper, wood and others. A laser with a power of 1 W was chosen to carry out the cutting. An electrical circuit with a power supply was created for the selected laser; a control method and a structural design of the jig to be attached to the flange of the robot arm were proposed. Subsequently, the robot control program was connected to the control via a computer and the RoboDK simulation software. The paper describes in more detail the creation of the robot control program and the simulation designed in the simulation software environment, as well as the programming of laser control scripts in Python and in the programming environment of Arduino microcontroller.

Analysis of software solutions for creating models by a generative design approach

With the constant development of new technologies and designs, the idea of a generative design approach arose. Generative design allows to create an infinite number of new designs in a relatively short time without the constraints associated with the imagination of the designer. Designs created by a generative design approach create optimized products that meet the specific needs of their end users. The parts created in this way are often lighter, stronger and less expensive in terms of their subsequent production. Generative design software applications are often more intuitive to work with than traditional CAD systems, and no additional knowledge associated with operating the software is required. The main goal of generative design is to save time in the design process, save material by creating optimal structures, and thus save money by developing cost-effective products. The product software only adds material where it is needed, which is typical of the additive production of organic shapes and forms. The product created in this way is more efficient for production compared to the traditional design and production approach. The article points out the current state of development of this rapidly expanding design technology with a description of software solutions used for the implementation of a generative design approach on illustrative examples of created design products.
