Design of Multi-Coupled Laminates with Extension-Twisting Coupling for Application in Adaptive Structures

Abstract: The multiple coupling of composite laminates has a unique advantage in improving the macro mechanical properties of composite structures. A total of three hygro-thermally stable multi-coupled laminates with extensiontwisting coupling were presented, which were conducive to the formation of passive adaptive structures. Then, the multi-coupled laminates were used to design the bending-twisting coupled box structure, in which the configuration of laminate and box structure could be extended to variable cross-sect… Show more

“…The discrete cosine transform contributes to the reduced correlation observed among the MFCCs features. When the observed signal corresponds to the desired signal, the covariance matrix values [29] serve as the MFCCs coefficients for the signal. In contrast, if the observed signal does not match the desired signal, the signal values have been set to zero.…”

“…Concerning the design of coupled laminates, we cite the works of York and co-workers, like e.g. [10][11][12][13][14][15]. For what concerns more theoretical aspects on B, a first work, introducing the concept of coupling degree, based on a tensorial norm, is [16] and a theoretical and numerical analysis of the consequences of orentation errors on coupling and quasi-homogeneity can be found in [17].…”
