Design of NGOSS TSA Using Web Services Technologies

Abstract: -To reduce frequent changes and upgrades of management systems, we need a guideline of OSS's architecture and development methods of the OSSs. TMF has proposed NGOSS technology-neutral architecture (TNA) which describes major concepts and architectural details of the NGOSS architecture in a technologically neutral manner. The NGOSS TNA can be mapped onto appropriate technology-specific architectures (TSAs) using specific technologies such as XML, Java and CORBA. Web services, which is a distributed and service… Show more

“…In this section, we present the alignment of NGOSS TNA and compare three TSAs using specific technologies: XML, CORBA, and Java. Table 1 [8] shows the comparison result of three technologies in accordance with the requirements of NGOSS TNA. XML has a natural affinity with communication management.…”

“…Web Service is a distributed and serviceoriented computing technology with strong support that is freely available from the industry. Therefore, it satisfies the service-oriented architecture (SOA) of NGOSS and supports COTS tools that can be applied to NGOSS TNA components [8]. The adaptation of the SOA to create an environment, where there are granular and loosely coupled OSS components with standardized interfaces, can plug and play over a common infrastructure [1].…”

“…Up to now, some researches extending TNA (TechnologyNeutral Architecture) architecture using Web services technologies are studied [10] [11]. But they focus on providing the alignments with TNA using Web Services, not detailing the solution about the NGOSS management based on Web Service, thus lack of practical value.…”
