Abstract:A collective Thomson scattering (CTS) diagnostic system is being developed to measure fastion velocity distribution on HL-3 tokamak. A 140 GHz gyrotron belonging to electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) system would be used to generate probe beam. The scattering spectra among HL-3 parameter ranges are calculated to assess diagnostic feasibility. Scattering signals will be detected by a heterodyne system, which is proposed to optimize diagnostic performance.
