Design of the Modular Pneumatic Valve Terminal

Abstract: The paper presents design of the modular pneumatic valve terminal, which was made on the basis of the patent application No A1 402905 "A valve for controlling fluid power drives, specially for pneumatic actuators, and the control system for fluid power drives valves". The authors describe a method of operation of the system with double-acting valve and 5/2 (five ways and two position) valve. Functions of the valve, and an example of application of the valve terminal in the production process were presented. 3D… Show more

“…Also replacing analogue devices with digital ones with their possibility of networking, greatly expanded the range of applications of computer science. In the valves there are used microcontroller, they are at the same class of PC microprocessor, but with more computing power, and with the possibility of on-line communication [7][8][9].…”

“…Although pneumatic drives have been known for many decades, new papers are still being reported. They present solutions for theoretical models that focus on drives dynamics [1,2] tracking positioning [3], friction in insulating nodes [4,5], innovative control valves [6,7], flexible muscle [8][9][10] drives or heat transfer of the operating medium [11] as well as modeling of the medium flow [12]. Positional and follow-up control of pneumatic drives are complicated issues and require use of modern valves with high dynamics and taking innovative approaches to applying algorithms and controllers.…”
