Design parameters of curvilinear sections of belt conveyors in mining

Abstract: Bulk material transportation requirements have continued to press the belt conveyor industry to carry higher tonnages over longer distances and more diverse routes. In order keep up, significant technology advances have been required in the field of system design, analysis and numerical simulation. The application of traditional components in non-traditional applications requiring horizontal curves and intermediate drives have changed and expanded belt conveyor possibilities. Examples of complex conveying appl… Show more

“…Correspondingly, 1 mass is the rotor of the electric drive; 2 masses of the rotating elements of the reducer on the output shaft and the semi-coupling mass; 3 mass semi-coupling and leading drum mass; 4 masses are taken from the mass of the driving drum. Lagrange's II-order equations [3,4] were used to obtain the differential equations representing the motions of the electric drive rotor and conveyor drums.…”

“…The motion is then transmitted from the reducer 3 through the clutch 4 to the drive drum 6 by means of a belt 7 from the drive drum 5. During the transportation of the mineral, rollers 8 were used to provide support and tension to the belt [1][2][3].…”

“…The preliminary analysis in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad shows the almost complete absence of effective designs of apron conveyors. In this regard, issues of developing innovative designs of apron conveyors require a comprehensive study and providing scientific foundations in this area [8]. The conveyor pan line with rollers is an important part of the belt conveyor, the technical condition of which depends on reliability of the conveyor as a whole.…”

“…Determining the effect of gravity on the belt conveyor rollers and the distribution of forces will depend on the dimensions of the roller, the angle of inclination of the side rollers, the weight of the belt and the mass of rock at 1 m (Figure 1) [1][2][3][4].…”
