“…Furthermore, new phenomena were found inside H-bonded supramolecular LC/ZnO nanospike composites [ 151 ]. By polarized optical microscopy, different phases were observed, but also lower temperature transitions, fast response times and high switching rates compared to the pure LC samples.…”

“…In liquid crystal phase, the molecules are with enough disorder that offers flow properties, and some degree of ordering that leads to anisotropy. [1][2][3][4] This phase offers higher degree of orientational order to a liquid and a less positional order to a crystal. The molecules ordering in a liquid crystal phase may be either translational and/or rotational.…”

“…Following this approach, several supramolecular complexes (SCPs) have been designed as potential components in electrolytes for advanced electrochromic devices, by the combination of metal ions, such as alkali metal ions, and ionogens, such as carboxylic and sulfonic acid groups . Various materials containing LCs have been synthesized recently with the aim of controlling their electronic transmission properties through the formation of anisotropic morphologies …”

“…[22][23][24] Various materials containing LCs have been synthesized recently with the aim of controlling their electronic transmission properties through the formation of anisotropic morphologies. [25][26][27][28] In the work reported here, we first used a side chain liquid-crystalline polysiloxane as a matrix polymer to synthesize new types of CuPc-based SCPs, in which a cholesteryl benzoate group was used as a mesogen. Self-assembled SCPs were prepared via hydrogen bonding using the synthesized sulfonic acid-containing polysiloxanes (SAPs) and CuPc.…”
