Design, Synthesis, and Bioactivities of Phthalide and Coumarin Derivatives Based on the Biosynthesis and Structure Simplification of Gossypol

Abstract: Because gossypol and hemigossypol show antiviral activity but are structurally complex, we designed and synthesized a series of structurally simpler phthalide and coumarin derivatives.
