“…The interaction mechanism of modifiers and paraffin is not clearly, and a combination of several mechanisms involving nucleation, cocrystallization, and adsorption has been discussed (Jafari et al, 2008;Kuzmić et al, 2008;Al-Sabagh et al, 2009). All polymeric paraffin inhibitors are consisted of wax-like paraffinic part and a polar part, so that the paraffinic part functions by providing nucleation sites and co-crystallizing with the paraffin, while the polar part, dissimilar with the paraffin crystals, blocks the extensive growth of the paraffin matrices (Holder et al, 1965;Price et al, 1971;Soni et al, 2010), which enables the crude oil stream to remain pumpable, pourable, and filterable. The synthesized PAAs have the characters to be efficient paraffin crystal modifiers with the long hydrocarbon chain derived from the vegetable oil and the hydrophilic part (amide groups) in the main chain.…”
