Destroying a Near-Extremal Kerr-Newman-AdS Black Hole with Test Particles

Abstract: If radiative and self-force effects are neglected, we find that feeding a test particle into a near-extremal Kerr-Newman-AdS black hole could lead to destroy their event horizon, giving rise to naked singularities. Hence radiative and self-force effects must be taken into account to further test cosmic censorship. Moreover, the allowed parameter range for this test particle is very narrow, this leaves the possibility of radiative and self-force effects considerations to cure the problem of WCC violation in Ker… Show more

“…In the presence of , extremal RN-AdS and extremal Kerr-dS/AdS black holes can be overcharged and overspun [49]. The near-extremal Kerr-Newman-AdS black hole violates WCC by absorbing test particle into its event horizon [50]. When quantum mechanical tunneling is taken into account, the event horizon of nearly extremal rotating black hole [51] and charged black hole [52] are destroyed by quantum absorption of a fermionic test particle into the black hole.…”

“…Recently, the mechanism of destroying a Kerr-Newman-AdS black hole has been considered by neglecting radiative and self-force effects [28]. In all these works, it was assumed that test particle follows a geodesic or Lorentz force trajectory and backreaction effects were neglected.…”

“…Following that the same result was extended to rotating black hole [13,14] -a rotating black hole could similarly be overspun. Following [12,13] there have been several investigations on these lines [15][16][17][18][19][20] addressing the question of over-charging/spinning of black hole. 1 It turns out that horizon of a charged and or rotating black hole can be destroyed by particle accretion of suitable parameters, and a naked singularity can be created.…”
