At the present time we know that microdisruptions in a polycrystalline material are formed at early stages of plastic deformation before formation of a "neck" in uniaxial stretching and subsequent breaking, However, in designing and estimating the quality and operating capacity of a material microdisruptions scattered in its volume were not taken into account for a long time. The appearance of the first discontinuities was characterized in these works by a certain value of the applied tensile stress and a residual elongation that constitutes 0.15 -0.30 of the total elongation after final breaking.Further work in this direction consisted in experimental investigation (using various physical methods) and analysis of the process of development and accumulation of microdisruptions for a wide range of metals and alloys [4]. This determined, the direction of research.

“…Further work in this direction consisted in experimental investigation (using various physical methods) and analysis of the process of development and accumulation of microdisruptions for a wide range of metals and alloys [4]. It was established that the basic mechanical properties are related to the parameters of the micro-and substructure of polycrystalline materials, and features of stress-strain diagrams due to stretching were established that showed a stagewise nature for the process of plastic deformation typical for each stage of the mechanism.…”
