Wireless-based networks encompass assisted human life in distinct domains like Agriculture, health, infrastructure, climate, transportation and defense. In particular, the wireless sensor networks have been addressed in this article. Though it has many advancements, providing secure data transmission needs a major focus on these platforms. The disruptions or interference is one of the vulnerable security problems in Wireless Sensor Networks. Inside the network, an intruder can encroach and interrupt the whole transmission process. The involvement of an intruder in the device must be remembered in the network. WSN encompasses a wide geographical region and focus on rectification of issues in protocols for routing, interoperability, connectivity, and defense plays a major role. Hence, this article addresses about routing protocols of WSN, applications, recent network security issues and their variants of defense mechanisms. The conclusion depicts the classification of network security issues, requirements, and descriptive defense mechanisms for secure data transmission.

A mobile ad hoc network consists of set of mobile nodes and communication devices to interact without any support of the infrastructure. Unlike wired networks, the challenges faced in mobile ad hoc networks possessed such as security design, network infrastructure, stringent energy resources and network security issues. The need for these security issues is much focused in overcoming the challenges in MANET. The proposed work focuses on the secure communication using a novel approach addressed on radio station problem for route optimization, which is deployed by grey wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm and supportively Task Based Admittance Control Model is proposed to monitor the network flow and to identify the malicious nodes. It is also called as rolebased control model. The communication is performed based on the cluster of vast sizes these trusted in node(s) will probably be conveying together, at the same time non -entry correspondence of the non-authorized node(s) to keep on maintaining a stable, anchored, and reliable gathering of mobile nodes. Security threats are vulnerable in recent times. Kaspersky intelligence report confirms that clustering and attacks makes crucial impact on the network as compared with other security attacks in wireless based environment .The current work focus on clustering of nodes in WSNs. Cat swarm optimization (CSO) algorithm is one of the bio-inspired algorithm and implemented for optimization of nodes to find a better route to transmit data packets in WSN. Also the work focuses on the presence of Distributed Monitoring Approach to evaluate the seek or hunt mode and tracing mode nodes for better improvement in clustering the network. The network recital parameters such as ratio of delivery of data packets, and transmission capacity usage are analyzed to detect network flow in WSN. Reviews have been performed with the analysis of network performance with some of the existing techniques.
